Research
My research concerns applied and fundamental problems in the area artificial intelligence, with a focus on:
- decision support for medical diagnosis and drug prescription.
- trajectory planning, task planning, failure detection and recovery for robots and computer games.
- user modeling, dialogue management, knowledge representation and integrated AI architectures for intelligent tutoring systems.
I am leading a team of
PhD and Master's students as well as research professionals working to find efficient solutions (algorithms and integration architectures) to the above problems and to integrate them into major applications. Our current projects include:
- APSS: a tool for recommending optimal prescriptions of antibiotics.
- AAAI Robot Challenge: a robot capable of attending a conference.
- Software prototypes for automated planning : TLPlan.
